Dr. Sara Virgil grew up in Upstate New York and received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University.
She moved to North Carolina to attend veterinary school where she graduated with her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 2014.
Dr. Virgil enjoys all aspects of practicing veterinary medicine but is especially interested in maintaining and enhancing the human-animal bond, dermatology, pain management, caring for senior pets, and practicing fear-free medicine. Most recently, she has developed an interest in holistic veterinary medicine and completed training in small animal acupuncture from Chi University. Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of conditions in pets, from arthritis to neurologic problems to gastrointestinal issues.
She lives in Cary with her husband Jordan, 2 young children, 1 senior dog and 2 cats. She met her husband playing recreational soccer and they continue to play together on local teams. She also enjoys reading, trips to the Outer Banks and travel in general, hiking and observing wildlife.
